Canford School Manor stands in 250 acres of fine parkland beside the River Stour just outside Wimborne in Dorset. The main buildings were remodelled by Sir Charles Barry in 1846 with the stunning carved walnut staircase added onto the great hall in 1885. One of the rooms that can be used for Civil Wedding Ceremonies is the John 0'Gaunts hall which dates to around the mid part of the 16th Century. Canford Magna School has two rooms that are licensed for civil wedding ceremonies, the first is John O'Gaunts hall, dating back to the 16th Century it has a pitched ceiling with exposed oak beams and hanging cartwheel chandeliers with seating for up to 80 guests. The second of the two rooms is the Long Gallery which dates to around 1850, the floor to ceiling windows which run along one side of the room make this a beautiful spacious area for wedding ceremonies. The Long Gallery can be arranged with seating for up to 130 wedding guests. There are many areas for wedding photography and for wedding guests to enjoy. In the grounds around the main building is a formal lawned area to the rear of the manor house and to the front is the river Stour, beautiful willow trees edge the river Stour and pretty foot bridges cross the main river and the smaller mill stream with it's weirs. For church wedding ceremonies just a minutes walk of Canford School is the Anglican Canford Magna Parish Church, a short car ride away in Wimborne is the beautiful Norman built Wimborne Minster Church.
