VenueMad Dorset Wedding Venues

Compton Acres is a privately owned series of beautiful and historic gardens, a stones thrown from Sandbanks near Poole with good access from Bournemouth and surrounding areas.

The gardens were started in 1929 and there are 7 distinctly themed gardens including the Italian garden with the adjoined Italian Villa making a stunning backdrop for weddings and wedding receptions.

Wedding guests enter the venue via the Roman Garden through a grotto, for weddings this is often decorated with tea-light candles providing a grand entrance as their first view of the Italian garden. The garden itself is dominated by the large pond and central fountain, bordered either side by columns and a gravel path which frame the lily pond and paved area. Statues at the front of the pond and the stone gazebo at the rear create focal points which add to the feeling you have stepped into a special place.

All the gardens at Compton Acres are immaculately maintained, guests will be able to walk round some of the most stunning gardens just a short walk from the villa. The Japanese garden is one of the most photogenic and provides a beautiful area for romantic wedding images, there is a small pagoda and stepping stones across the pond which contain large Koi carp.

The Roman Villa's has a large dining area for the wedding breakfast is well lit with plenty of natural light it has a bright airy feel and looks out over the Italian garden via large glass wall.
